I grew up in Wana, South Waziristan — a district that appears in national news mostly when something explodes. I started working in media at 18 because I wanted to tell stories that were not just about explosions. Fifteen years later, I build digital infrastructure for organisations that need a platform but do not usually get one. The tools changed. The question did not.
I work at the intersection of editorial operations and web technology. That combination is rare because most people specialise in one or the other. Developers build technically sound websites that do not serve editorial workflows. Journalists build editorial systems that do not account for technical constraints. I bridge the gap because I have been on both sides.
My career arc includes radio broadcasting (500+ programmes), independent publishing (founded Tribal Post, run Aware Pakistan), frontline journalism (Operation Zarb-e-Azb displacement coverage), digital operations management, and now full-time freelance consulting. That non-linearity is not a weakness. It is the reason I can solve problems that pure specialists cannot.
